Sales of the Agrippa range of fire door holders and closers have doubled within the last 12 months.

The Agrippa products were launched at international trade show Firex three years ago, and have since seen a record number of sales for the British manufacturer Geofire.

Sold by a number of fire and safety equipment distributors across the UK and Ireland, the Agrippa products have been particularly successful in the care, education and hospitality sectors due to their wire-free benefits and easy installation.

The Agrippa fire door holder and free-swing closer are installed into buildings to increase accessibility and improve ventilation. Geofire’s advanced technology enables the Agrippa fire door holders and closers to uniquely ‘listen and learn’ the sound of a specific fire alarm. This ensures the product’s releasing trigger reacts only to the precise sound of the fire alarm rather than loud noises, so false activations are virtually eliminated.

Andy Collinson, CEO of Geofire said: “We are delighted with the feedback we have received from both our distributors and customers. The technology developed by our in-house engineers specifically addressed some of the issues our customers were having with false activations and damage to soft furnishings, whilst still providing protection to a building and its inhabitants.

He added: “The products in our acoustic, Agrippa range are evolving all the time and we expect to add to this range as our engineers work with our customers to find solutions to other issues they face. Research and development is a big part of our focus as we grow the business.”

Hygienically installed at the top of the fire door, the Agrippa devices can be programmed for timed daily releases. They require only two C cell batteries (which last for 12 months), have a battery life indication and low battery warning. Both products are approved to EN1155 and CE marked.
