Stephenson Gobin (parent company of Geofire) forms new Business Development Team in India

We’re delighted to welcome Rakesh Patnaik to Stephenson Gobin (SG) as Head of Sales and Business Development for British Engines India.

Stephenson Gobin (SG) is a global leader in the design and manufacture of engineered electromagnetic braking and clutch systems, supporting a wide range of industrial applications. Its products are used in sectors including intralogistics, robotics, medical technology, renewable energy, and general industrial machinery.

Rakesh joins the SG business at an exciting time as we continue to strengthen our presence in India. In his new role, he will lead the Business Development Team, working closely with Praveen Kumar, who joined earlier this year. Together, they will focus on building new opportunities and supporting our long-term growth ambitions in the Indian market.

With 20 years of experience across a broad range of industries, Rakesh brings significant expertise to the role. His background spans the automation, material handling, crane and hoist, medical, steel, wind, and power sectors, alongside extensive experience in brakes and clutches. Notably, 10 years of his career have been dedicated to developing the Indian market for brakes and clutches, giving him strong insight into the region and its evolving opportunities.

Speaking about his new role, Rakesh said: “After years of learning and leadership, I am excited to bring my experience into a new environment focused on growth, innovation, and long-term value creation.”
